Mars Synthesized USO

We are currently developing a small, low-power, synthesized USO for the Mars Technology Program (MTP). The 76.5 MHz output of this USO is compatible with the industry standard Small Deep Space Transponder (SDST). The USO contains an internal synthesizer that enables fine-tuning of its output frequency to correspond with the Deep Space Network (DSN)downlink frequency channels. This feature enables a single 5 MHz resonator design to be used for all applications. The Mars synthesized USO will feature significantly lower mass and power consumption than current APL designs.
