Edmond (Brent) Smith joined APL to perform scientific research beyond his programming abilities that characterized his time at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in the Earth Sciences Division’s Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO). He is currently performing data pipeline development work for the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) Diviner instrument and the Europa Imaging System (EIS) for the Europa Clipper mission. His research foci involves CME-induced magnetospheric hydrodynamic (MHD) shockwave theory and plasma-based Heliophysics. Brent has received multiple awards for his scientific programming abilities at NASA GSFC and aims to continually excel in the scientific disciplines.
